The income of the foundation is spent on giving grant allowances and other benefits for descendants of Johannes Theodorus Suhrs&#8217; parents, merchant Ole Bernt Suhr and wife Dorothea Beckman; as such, grants can\u2019t be applied for by non-family members.<\/p>\n<p><b>Second division<\/b> is \u201cEtatsr\u00e5d Johannes Theodorus Suhrs og Hustru Caroline Falch\u2019s Fond til fordel for efterkommere af af Anna Elisabeth Dorthea Meincke, f. Falch, og til fordel for visse p\u00e5r\u00f8rende til borgerrepr\u00e6sentanter, magistratsmedlemmer og dommere i K\u00f8benhavn samt medlemmer af Folketinget.\u201d( Foundation of titular councillor of state Johannes Theodor Suhr and wife Caroline Falch to benefit descendants of Anna Elisabeth Dorthea Meincke, f. Falch, and to benefit certain relatives of city councillors, executives and judges of Copenhagen and members of the Danish Parliament.)<\/p>\n<p>There is also \u201cEtatsr\u00e5d Suhrs og Hustrus Legat til Udl\u00e5n til tr\u00e6ngende Professionister\u201d(grant of titular councillor of state Suhr and wife for lending to needy professionals), also known as the The Suhr Foundations <b>Craftsman\u2019s-grant<\/b> .<\/p>\n<p>The two divisions and the craftsman\u2019s-grant were originally covered by one instrument of foundation of 1859. After the thorough reform of legislation for grants, foundations and other self-governing institutions in 1984, the First division became subject to the regulations for Commercial Foundations. The Second Division and the craftsman\u2019s-grant are subject to the ordinary foundation legislation. Consequently, the common instrument of foundation was replaced while incorporating modernizations in 1995 by separate sets of articles of association (instruments of foundations) for each of the three foundations.<\/p>\n<p>The Suhr Foundation also administers the later established \u201cPastor C. E. Suhrs og Hustrus <b>Legat for ugifte Pr\u00e6sted\u00f8tre<\/b> \u201d (Grant of Reverend C. E. Suhr and wife\u2019s <strong>Grant for Unmarried Minister&#8217;s Daughters<\/strong> ); Rev. C. E. Suhr was brother of Johannes Theodorus Suhr. Beneficiaries of this grant are selected by the bishop of Funen\u2019s diocese.<\/p>\n<p>The administration of first and second division and the mentioned grants is managed from the offices of the Foundation on Gammel Torv.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Suhr Foundation has two divisions.
